Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot including divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the party access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
